Learn strategies to develop parent leadership in order to strengthen families, promote optimal child development, and prevent child abuse and neglect. Learning Objectives: 1. Discuss how parent leadership relates to stronger families and more effective organizations 2. Define the term “leadership” and give examples of leadership activities 3. List the advantages of and the barriers to sharing leadership responsibilities with parent 4. Demonstrate an understanding of the definition and the importance of confidentiality 5. List the four levels of the Strengthening Families Parent Engagement Strategies and give examples of each 6. Design a plan to develop parent leadership among parents at the child care facility
