Description
Needs Based Child Care is an opportunity for child care providers to shift from control and conformity to thinking about the true needs of the child. A way of looking at each child's individual interests, likes and dislikes, emotions, struggles, behaviors objectively and not judgmentally. Empowering children to listen to their bodies and making their needs known to providers, and providers supporting their growth by mentoring them in a supportive way.

Needs Based Child Care: Providing caregivers with tools to observe, and evaluate where negative behavior is coming from. To provide children with support, and mentoring that can help them begin to self-regulate, and balance their emotions and behavior. Providers will be given specific tools that help support children’s play and deepen their relationships within their classrooms, while diffusing negative behavior.
